SIDMIT, Services d’Incinération des Déchets Ménagers & Industriels represented by CEO, Eric KENTZLER, received on August 10, 2017 from the Republic of Togo represented by the Minister of Environmental, Mr. Andre Kouassi Ablom Johnson, a Validation certificate for FINANCING, CONSTRUCTION, DESIGN, AND OPERATION PROGRAM OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY POLE FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT WITH ELECTRICITY GENERATION BIO-FUEL & FERTILIZERS.

The project is located in KPOME, 25 km northeast of the capital, LOME. The site is accessible by paved roads. The proposed site is located in the Maritime Region, on the Prefecture of Lomé.

The project includes the sorting and treatment of household and industrial waste. The facility will allow the treatment of 300,000 tonnes of wastes per year: (more than 800 tonnes / day). Main goals: 1) Production of electricity from the heat of various activities in the center. The equipment will supply the public network.

The Project and the Environmental and Social Impact Study, which was carried out around its implementation, received the approval of the Togolese Ministry of the Environment and a more than favorable reception from the population. Indeed, in addition to offering a waste management service, the project aims to generate electricity for a capacity of one hundred (100) GW, which will supply the public grid, facilities will also produce organic amendments and fertilizers essential to the development and sustainability of our agriculture.

For SIDMIT CEO, Eric KENTZLER, this project will form the basis for other projects, not only for Togo but also for other African countries, being in the same situation and with whom we also have
relationships.

SIDMIT wishes the project to be carried out and financed by IIB Development Group, LLC, and signed a contract on March 19, 2020 with IIB-DG.

About Republic of Togo

Togo is currently in deficit for the controlled treatment of household and similar waste.
The waste is currently deposited on unauthorized plots near cities. The populations including young children then frequent these landfills to find waste recoverable.

These wild dumps pose an epidemiological risk for the populations (inhalation and ingestion of dust and bacteria) and an environmental risk (pollution of water from streams, water made non-potable in wells). Waste arrives from all sides without control. You can find cans or drums. In lack of solutions, waste is no longer collected and accumulates on the streets.
