HARARE METRO RAIL project by HARARE LIGHT RAIL (PRIVATE) LIMITED acquired on September 7, 2012.

The harare metro rail project (hmrp) involves the construction of a city wide metro rail system starting with phase 1 of the project between central business district (cbd) and dzivarasekwa . The phase 1 line totals 30.4 km lomg – connecting all the high-density cbd and dzivzrasekwa. The proposed line is elevated along the whole route and will run on hydrogen, lng or battery power. The project, which is estimated to cost us $775 million, will be built over a 3-year period. A further four phases will follow to cover the whole city at the end of each 3 year construction period.
